Back-up

How the back-up system works and how it is generated on a 24h-basis

Updated over 2 months ago

A backup is a copy of your data stored separately from the original, ensuring protection against loss or damage. It provides an extra layer of security, allowing you to restore important files, databases, and websites in case something goes wrong.

Our system automatically creates a backup every 24 hours, around midnight (00:00). This includes all available resources, such as email accounts, websites, and databases (if applicable). All backups are securely stored on external S3 storage (Simple Storage Service), which efficiently manages your data.

Backups of previous versions are stored for up to 7 days. Older backups are automatically overwritten by newer versions, ensuring that no more than 7 backups are kept at any given time. This policy helps keep our storage servers manageable and prevents overload from unused data that could otherwise accumulate over months or even years.

Restore an backup

To restore a previous version, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your website and click on the Backups tab.

  2. Find the restore point you want to use and click Restore on the right-hand side of the column. A dropdown menu will appear.

  3. You can choose to restore your email, website or specific databases that you wish to recover manually.
